Highlights from Cherokee County Commission

• Gene Langerot and Leonard Vanatta updated the commission with their recommendations for bids. The commission tabled the approval of the tire bid, since there are three companies that all offer government bids, the asphalt, and the tractor bid, due to Commissioner Charlie Napier being absent
• Commission entered into executive session for five minutes with Langerot and Vanatta. for non-elected personnel.
• Only one person has completed the form for property tax relief due to the damage by the tornado
• Christina Main came before the commission to discuss the Columbus Hospitality Center.
• Mary Pat Burgan came before the commission to update them on the new approval site for household trash.
• County Counselor Kevin Cure presented the commissioners with Resolution 14-2014, which pertains to certain financial controls for the county.
• Cure reviewed the Taylor Crane and Rigging contract, for the upcoming project for Empire District.
• Hilderbrand motioned to sign an agreement with Fisher, Patterson, Saylor and Smith, for any upcoming casino issues.
• Cure presented the commissioners with a social media policy Resolution 15-2014, Electronic Media policy and the use of county guidelines.
