Baxter Springs, Kan. – James Richard Black, age 69 of Baxter Springs, formerly of Rich Hill, Mo., departed into God’s Kingdom on June 15, 2014 from his home in Baxter Springs, Kan., after a long illness.
He was an over the road trucker for 33 years. He enjoyed watching Chiefs football, reading western books, and taking care of his yard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers. He was a kind and loving husband and father. Survivors include his wife, Jean, of 34 years; a step-daughter, Sandra Wisdom of the home; 2 step-sons, Roy Bush (wife, April) of Baxter Springs, and Rick Bush (wife, Chris) of Hune, Mo.; one son, Richard Black (wife, Barbara) of Chinese Camp, Calif.; 2 sisters, Wilma Ranage (husband, Larry) of Rich Hill, Mo., and Alice Koehn( husband, Archie) of Rich Hill, Mo.; 11 grandkids and 14 great-grandkids.
He will be greatly missed by all. His body has been taken for cremation under the care of Derfelts Baxter Chapel.
