Lloyd Johnston, Jr.

Scammon, Kan. – Lloyd Ray “Bubba” Johnston Jr, age 60, passed away at his home following an illness.
Mr Johnston was born October 1, 1953 in Miami, Okla. His parents were Lloyd Ray and Dixie Fern (Martin) Johnston. He had lived at Scammon since 2005, moving from Treece, Kan.
He was Native American, a descendant of the Cherokee Tribe. He worked as a groundskeeper at the Shangri La Resort, Grove Okla., for 15 years. He was an Indian Artist and was known for his leather and bead work.
He was married to Linda Chafin June 5, 1981 in Miami, Okla. She survives and lives in Wyandotte, Okla.
Additional survivors include one son, Lloyd Ray “PJ” Johnston III, Baxter Springs, Kan.; two step sons, Bradley James Burk, San Antonio, Texas, and Jeremy Chafin, Wyandotte, Okla.; 4 brothers, Douglas Eugene Scott, Quapaw, Okla., Terry Lynn Johnston, Baxter Springs, Kan., Gilbert Allen Johnston, Joplin, Mo., and Randy Lee Johnston, Joplin, Mo.; 4 sisters, Judy Kay Carrier, Scammon, Kan., Janet Sue Johnston, Baxter Springs, Kan., Dixie Earlene Busby, Miami, Okla., and Alisa Gay Johnson, Miami, Okla.; and several niece, nephews and grandchildren.
Bubba’s desire was to be cremated. Arrangements are under the care of Derfelt Funeral Home, Columbus, Kan.
