They came to the Shockley home south of Galena, and filmed the Galena Fire Department's demonstration of putting out a fire in a vehicle. Some film was taken of the downtown Galena area.

The Jet Truck, driven by Kent Shockley, runs over 300 mph racing airplanes at airshows and holds the world record for trucks at 376 mph. At 36,000 horsepower, the ShockWave has enough power to accelerate at almost 3 G's vertical, that's as fast as the space shuttle!

Kent, a veteran of motor sports, has built and driven many race cars and was the first person licensed by the National Hot Rod Association, in a multi jet engine vehicle. That was on June 30, 1984.

Scott "Superman" Shockley is the driver of the Super Shockwave Twin Engine Jet Truck that weighs 5,000 lbs. Its engine is a 2 Pratt & Whitney J34-48'S Navy T-2A Buckeye Airplane with a body of special fiber glass 1957 Chevy and chassis, 4130 Chromemolly. The truck thrusts 12,500 with Afterburners and parachutes Main 2-14 foot/reserve 2-16 foot parachutes. It runs on diesel 80 gals. per run.

At the early age of 12 Scott began watching his dad design, build, tune and modify jet powered racecars. Not to mention the excitement of watching him set hundreds of records and becoming a three time National Jet Car Champion.

When Scott was 20, he designed his own drag bike and won the first National Event that he entered. He also played around driving IMCA modified cars. It was natural for Scott to follow in his dad's footsteps. In 2001, after four decades of racing, Les Shockley turned over the driving chores of the Super ShockWave to his son, Scott.

And, let's not forget Donna Shockley, Les' wife and mother of Kent and Scott, who is the backbone of the WHOLE DEAL!
